What is FANE?

Each fall, the Gopher Dairy Club hosts its annual Food Animal Network Evening (FANE).

FANE is an event open to all members of the Gopher Dairy Club, the Pre-Vet Club, Agriculture, Education, Communication, and Marketing Club, and Block and Bridle on the St. Paul Campus. The goal of FANE is to provide an opportunity for students to network with organizations on a more personal level than a typical career fair and give industry professionals the chance to meet with the future of the agriculture industry. Internships and jobs are heavily promoted at the event by organization representatives, and connections are made to benefit both students and organizations.

Thank You for a successful Food Animal Networking Evening!

The 2025 Food Animal Networking Evening hosted by the Gopher Dairy Club was a great success. 46 students and 20 organizations were in attendance for the career fair, followed by a dinner and brief program. Seniors Brady Gille and Keenan Thygesen presented to students and representatives about tips and tricks on interviewing, polishing a resume, and excelling in the workplace. Thank you to all those who attended and helped make the evening a success! We are looking forward to another successful FANE in 2026!

Meet the 2025 FAne Co-chairs:

  • Alexis Hoefs, a junior studying Animal Science

  • Avery Rieland, a sophomore studying Agricultural & Food Business Management and Agricultural Communications & Marketing

As co-chairs for FANE, Alexis and Avery coordinated the entire event, ensuring every detail was covered. From reaching out to agricultural businesses interested in networking with our members to securing their attendance, they handle it all.

They organized accommodations, encouraged student participation, and facilitated networking opportunities throughout the event. Additionally, they planned the formal dinner, carefully arranging seating with preferred businesses to enhance connections. Alexis and Avery also scheduled member speakers, providing valuable preparation and insights for attendees.

Thank you, Alexis and Avery, for your organization and commitment to such a successful event!
